Did you mean by original Linux a full distribution of Linux like Ubuntu and Debian? If that’s the case it is possible some users have done it, you need to modify the boot loader and other things, take a look at this posts they might give you an idea https://communities.intel.com/thread/48074, https://communities.intel.com/thread/50862, https://communities.intel.com/thread/51190. But keep in mind that the only supported is the Yocto.
