It seems your instructions only work with your image. I had looked at your project, but was put off by the need to use the "unique" serial interface, as haven't had a lot of success with it. Got it to work, but had problems. Maybe I can try with the Galileo 2, as uses more standard connection. In any case, I don't think it is doable with first year students.
I'll go back to working with the RoboPeak image until someone comes up with a NOOBs for Galileo.
