I am an Intel Edison mini-breakout board user, not an Arduino user. Some of the quick things I have seen.
Some users have switched cables to a more generic microB USB cable and the problem seemed fixed for them.
Some Arduino Board users did not switch the micro switch to right of micro USB ports to the left (towards the port).

One of my issues went away by unseating and reseating the Edison Module.
