Your Laptop has also a discrete graphics card, in this case, I suggest you to uninstall both drivers the Intel® graphics driver and the discrete graphics card driver and then install the Intel® graphics driver first with manual installation and then the discrete graphics driver.
If this does not solve this problem, then I strongly recommend contacting Microsoft for further support about this issue.
Best regards,
Ivan.
Re: creators update graphic drivers
gstreamer-vaapi drivers for BayTrail
We are trying to enable HW acceleration of H264 video decoding on Baytrail but cannot find the documentation.
Two possible solutions:
- Documentation on how to enable HW acceleration
- Gstreamer 1.x.x distribution with vaapi built in, built specifically for Baytrail?
Can someone help or have had similar issues?
Re: Problems with 4k resolution on NUC7i5BNK
Hello satxSPURS,
Thank you for the information; at this point let’s wait for the replacement to see how it goes, hopefully the replacement can solve the problem.
kristwa I understand that this issue is happening after updating Windows to the latest Windows 10 Creators Update, if satxSPURS decides to replace the unit and this solves the issue I would suggest you to do the same thing if not we will need to further investigate the problem.
Best regards,
Ivan.
Re: Intel Graphics drivers - screen blanking after long period of inactivity.
It is a national holiday so I do not have access to this machine at this time. I can do this but I am fairly certain that there will be no change.
1 - ibase drivers will be the drivers that were available at the release of the machine, they are not customised that I know of, being vanilla intel. Additionally, I suspect the graphics driver is the same version, I have tried several already.
2 - the power options are already set to that. Additionally, even changing the intel driver between "max performance" and "balanced" changes nothing.
This happens on several recent devices. Including but not limited to their SI-83 as well. I am not sure about the new SI-623 at this time.
With no other settings changed, similar hardware to the SI83 will do it when using the intel graphics, but not with an NVIDIA card.
Survey would suggest that there is some hidden sleep function in your drivers that we have no knowledge of.
Re: i7 7700K WHEA-Logger Event 19 Error
Hello C#onrad,
In this case, if the IPDT shows that the CPU is fine, you will not have issues in the future, however, be aware that you have three years warranty for the unit and if for some reason starts failing, you can request a replacement for the unit.
Also, since the IPDT passed, I would suggest checking with Microsoft about this issue, since it has been generated by Windows and they might have further detailed information about it and troubleshooting.
Best regards,
Ivan.
Re: NUC7i3BNH Hdmi audio cutting out
Hi, today I invested 4 hours of time to find out the update won't work with the NUC 7i3BNH. I bought a new SSD and installed it, I obtained a Windows 10 Copy and installed it one hour. Afterwards I tried to connect my 4k-AVR as well as my 4k-TV. In all cases the installer said "System connecting ... failed".
That is really annoying Intel! First there is no Linux support for upgrading such important firmware and then it came out everything was just waste of time.
Still stucked with non-working DTS-HD MA and cuts on AC3.
Re: Thermal sensor issue i7-7700k?
I haven't said anything since I posted comment #60 but I agree with all replies since Intel's response. I purchased their PPTP soon after purchasing the CPU. However when I had the same spike and temp issues and found this forum in Feb, I had already lost confidence in the product and lifespan and had them process a refund of my PPTP within the 30 days. I too am more than disappointed and frustrated that a company we all seemed to be waiting on for cutting edge CPUs and technology could let us all down and after spending quite a bit of money on all our setups. I could still have faith in this company if they either fixed it somehow with some remedy such as CPU replacement upgrade plan to the next generation made with solder instead of this substandard TIM problem we are dealing with. If not then my only recourse will be as most of the others have stated and that is to move to AMD products for me, my family and grandkids etc and any techie facebook friends. It's more than a slap in the face that it took three months to respond with anything other than "we are investigating" but to expect that this cpu will last with those spikes and temps and that is normal or by design. Good bye all and thanks for all the tips on OC'ing if I ever delid mine.
Re: Lagging games with my Intel HD Graphics 2000, do I have to install any driver?
Thank you for the information Derek004 and I apologize for the delay on responding to you.
At this point, I suggest you to install the latest Intel® generic driver, you can download it here:
Intel® HD Graphics Driver for Windows* 7/8-64-bit
You can use the .exe file for the installation process, if you get an error trying to install this driver, you can try installing it manually, please see how to Manually Install an Intel® Graphics Driver in Windows® 10 and Windows 8*/8.1*
I hope this can help.
Best regards,
Ivan.

Re: BoardID Tool - Problem with NUC6i7KYK?
That tool is for Intel Desktop Board products and you have a NUC.

Re: More Unity examples(or at least some guide to use algorithm modules)
The documentation for segmentation appears to contradict itself. In the opening introduction page of the segmentation section that you linked to, it infers that both color and depth resolutions can be changed. In a reply to a similar question to yours in January 2017 though, Intel support staff member Pablo said after investigating the R3 documentation that "it seems like the only property that can be set / changed in the Seg3D module is FrameSkipInterval But there is no other configuration possible".
The Properties section of the Seg3D documentation seems to back this up.
Re: Intel NUC7i3bnh HDR support
Since there is not enough bandwith for 10/12bit 4K@60hz RGB you have to either output "10/12bit HDR 4k@60hz YUV420/YUV422" (What Nvidia Graphic Cards are doing) OR "8bit HDR 4k@60hz RGB" (What AMD Graphic Cards are doing)
I just checked if there are any option on intel graphic to define RGB/YUV420/YUV422 might be intel have RGB on by default but hdmi 2.0 doesn't support 3840x2160P 59/60Hz 444 10/12 bit ?
I wasn't able to find these settings

Hi Leonardo,
Thank you for this info.
I will review the 3D Scan feature.
Noam.
Re: I would like to use SR300 with Unity
I compared the SenseManager code you used to a script by another user that used identical code and noted that in their script's header section above the Start() function, they had this setup line for the Sense Manager:
private PXCMSenseManager psm; //SenseManager Instance
Have you got this in your script?
Re: Thermal sensor issue i7-7700k?
Hello OverDriver_Pt83,
I'm surprised that you are missing the point so badly, having watched and contributed to this topic for some considerable time. Just to summarize the issue as I think we see it:
We all agree that:
- moderate temperature spikes on CPUs are normal and part of the technology
- AVX instructions are power-hungry and will cause the CPU temperature to increase
- overclocking will cause the CPU temperature to increase
- running memories at higher clock rates will cause the CPU temperature to increase
- if the CPU voltage is too high it will cause the CPU temperature to increase
- incorrect BIOS settings may cause the CPU temperature to increase and may make it unstable
However we also know that:
- tests done clearly show that replacing the heat transfer compound between the integrated circuit and the case lowers the CPU temperature by 15-30 degrees, typically.
- replacing the heat transfer compound lowers the temperature spikes significantly
As you know, most i7 7700K CPUs cannot be overclocked beyond 4.8GHz without running into heat problems (I assume that any overclock must be 100% stable under any load conditions). This is a meager 6.7% overclock (above the 4.5GHz turbo boost).
As the temperature of the chip increases, it is necessary to increase Vcore to maintain stability ... so it's a vicious circle. Furthermore, the heat will over time degrade the CPU so that it may in the future become unstable or fail. I for one do not want a system that starts to have BSODs and program crashes as time goes on.
So for you to say that we should stop complaining until we see CPUs failing is really surprising (and disappointing) to me. Just remember that some of us have bought the i7 7700K because we need the extra performance that it should be able to deliver ... and some of us do not want systems that become unstable, or fail, either before (and definitely not after) the Intel warranty expires.
Cheers
Robert
opkg from Galileo Gen2 is not able to locate any package
Hi There,
I am a beginner and struggling a lot while working with opkg on Intel Galileo Gen 2 board. My aim is to read barcode from the camera which will be attached to Galileo.
For that I need to install zbar package but I am not able to work with opkg at all. I am not able to install any package because opkg can not locate that and while running the command " opkg install <package_name>" every time I am getting the error
Unknown package 'package_name'.
Collected errors:
* opkg_install_cmd: Cannot install package 'package_name'.
Neither I am able to run 'wget' nor I am able to extract any compressed file like .gz, .bz2 etc
My Linux yocto image has the following files on SD card:
boot
grub.efi
bzImage
image-full-galileo-clanton.ext3
core-image-minimal-initramfs-clanton.cpio.gz
Is the Linux image is corrupted on my SD card which is mounted on Galileo board ?
Your help will be really Appreciated..
Thanks in advance
Re: hrtimer.h und/oder timer interrupt
Pedro's answer is great and it runs in a tight loop.
Here are a couple of helper-functions that I use, to create timers which send a signal (similar to an interrupt) to the app at specified intervals. You can specify the interval in seconds or nano-seconds.
// When any timer fires it will call here.
// The ID of the timer is stored in the si_value.sival_ptr member.
static void handler(int sig, siginfo_t *si, void *uc)
{
UNUSED(uc); // The user-context is almost universally never used.
UNUSED(sig); // We could check SIG against TIMER_SIG but why bother since it's the only signal we registered for?
static uint64_t seconds = 0;
// off_t filesize;
uint32_t param;
// Get the timer ID.
param = (uint32_t)si->si_value.sival_ptr;
switch (param) {
case ONE_SECOND_TIMER:
seconds++;
//discovery_tick();
if((seconds % 120)==0)
{
if(mcp->opts.logfd)
{
// Tell world how many lines we have logged.
sprintf(g_buf, "Logged %d Lines",mcp->opts.loglines);
mc->sendMqttIDMessge(g_buf, (char*)"canlog");
}
}
break;
case TWENY_MILLISECOND_TIMER:
mcp->tick(); // Call the Microchip-Can-Controller tick.
break;
default:
break;
}
}
// Schedule and start a timer. Specify a uniuqe ID and time in seconds and nano-seconds.
void startTimer(uint32_t id, long sec, long nsec)
{
struct sigaction sa;
struct itimerspec ts;
struct sigevent sev;
timer_t tid;
// Configure the signal action.
sa.sa_flags = SA_SIGINFO;
sa.sa_sigaction = handler; // When the timer fires, it will call handler(...);
sigemptyset(&sa.sa_mask); // No masks.
// Establish a handler for our custom signal TIMER_SIG
if(sigaction(TIMER_SIG, &sa, NULL)==-1)
{
std::cerr << "Error in sigaction\n";
return;
}
// Configure the signal event structure
sev.sigev_notify = SIGEV_SIGNAL; // We wish to be notified using a SIGNAL
sev.sigev_signo = TIMER_SIG; // Use our custom signal number: TIMER_SIG
sev.sigev_value.sival_ptr = (void*)id;
// Configure the time-spec
ts.it_value.tv_sec = sec;
ts.it_value.tv_nsec = nsec;
ts.it_interval.tv_sec = sec;
ts.it_interval.tv_nsec = nsec;
// Create the timer
if(timer_create(CLOCK_REALTIME, &sev, &tid) == -1)
{
std::cerr << "Error in timer_create\n";
return;
}
// Start the timer.
if(timer_settime(tid,0,&ts, NULL)==-1)
{
std::cerr << "Error in settime\n";
}
}
I hope this helps too!
