Well I got the other board and am trying it out, as least this one goes through the status, though I am unable to figure out the code its stuck on, i'm sorry I don't understand the codes and how to read them. No matter what's in the system, single, double, no fans, different memory. The system continually won't post, the status is blinking amber, and the led diagnostics are up and going, though I am unable to figure it out, it is as follows;
the led's that are lit up are; 1,2,4,6,7 otherwise g,f,d,b,a...this is a constant that it ends up on, almost regardless of memory or processors, or otherwise...Keyboard? I have a usb hooked up...

So, What is going on?
Here's screen shots from attempt to create the raid volume using the <ctrl i> at boot. The anomalies start with recognizing the 8TB drives as 1308.0GB. After what appears to be a correct creation of the Raid volume, it boots to windows and one of the drives disappears from the os (just not visible), while the other functions normally. If I launch windows "Disk Management" it tries to initialize the drive that disappeared.

I apologize but I'm not very informed about this. How do I know if my graphic driver is working properly? I ask because for a certain game which I'm playing has 32-bit and 64-bit client. I prefer the latter because my computer is 64-bit and has 8gb ram. However, the game randomly loses FPS until very recently so I have to switch to 32-bit client which runs fine like 64-bit used to. Is there some procedure I can go through to see if my graphic driver is functioning?

Is this a brand new drive? If so, you need to go into the Windows Disk Management applet and initialize, partition and format the drive.

It's not that hard. I used a thin razor blade and cut the glue gently. Just go slow, was actually quite easy. Otherwise order a delid tool. I did not glue the IHS down. Just clamp it down with the motherboard clip. Makes it easier to replace the TIM again if you don't get it right first time. Liquid ultra must be applied to the cpu and the bottom of the IHS to make good contact. And then use a good paste on top of the IHS. I'd love to try water cooling now to see the improvement over air. At the end of the day has all this effort and stress for an extra 300mhz improved my life? No not all, but it was definitely fun! haha
There are lots of apps and gadgets that can display processor core temperatures. Check out the AIDA64 or HWiNFO64 applications.
Unfortunately, because the EC used in these NUCs is so new, no applications yet have support for exposing the other temperature sensors (or voltage sensors or fan speed sensors or fan speed controllers).

Thank for attaching the logs. I looked at them and the only thing that attracted my attention were repetitive warnings about PS redundant power lost and a couple of critical records about PS with insufficient resources to maintain normal operation. I assume these happened during your PS testing. This could possibly generate a reboot or a total shutdown due to insufficient power but I don’t think it could create a system hang.
Lets allow the system to run and lets gather the logs right after any of the hangs reoccur so we can see if hardware related errors are shown.

Asus has a great system for tuning your fan speeds in the bios. Can set the %fan speed vs exact temp. So it will ramp slightly under heavy load but remain quiet. Mine will go full speed if it gets over 85c and get pretty loud which acts as an alarm system that something is wrong. I'm not sure how long the new TIM will last. Some people say it's fine after 3-4 years still, others say only a year. Liquid metal has guidelines such as don't use it on copper. This will damage the copper and alter the chemistry of the liquid metal(dry it out?). Theoretically using it between the IHS and the CPU should last till your next upgrade.
Yes this also happens to me. I noticed after the update to Creators edition your Intel Driver Update Utility no longer works properly and gives out an error. My solution was to uninstall the IDUU and the error message after booting disappeared. The only inconvenience now is that I no longer have an easy way to detect and receive driver updates from Intel.
Thanks, I've updated the BIOS. I'll let you know how the sleep problem goes, however now the blue HDD activity light is on solid. I had it turned off on the previous version of BIOS, but now I can't get it to turn off anymore...
